Doordarshan to upgrade infrastructure in border areas

Amritsar : To counter propaganda from the Pakistani side, Doordarshan has decided to upgrade its infrastructure, especially in the border areas. AK Maheshwari, Chief Engineer (North Zone) at a press conference here today said Doordarshan would install high-power transmitters in border villages besides starting digital transmission services.He was here to participate at a two-day conference of heads of the engineering department of various areas under the North Zone. He said high-power transmitters would produce strong signals that would not only help in transmitting strong and clear signals in border areas but also weaken signals of Paksitani television channels. “Doordarshan will also start high definition digital transmission soon,” he said.
