NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday said phone tapping is necessary but it has to be exercised with utmost care. "Even if the phone tapping is being done for the official purpose, it must be done within the limits of the official rules," added the Prime Minister. Manmohan Singh also said that cabinet secretary K M Chandrasekhar had been asked to submit a report in the phone-tapping issue within a month.
